At
the end of the parterre facing the residence, there are hedges trimmed into
solid shapes, which divide the immediate garden from the meadow and the
park.
This is lined by a path which branches off towards the natural ice hole,
a fountain dedicated to Symonds, the rock garden (the Mockery) the
fake ruins (Temple of Baal and the Walls of Gerico), the theater
of the 1800s, a small temple dedicated to Saint Anthony, and the family
chapel.
This chapel is important as the sole neogothic Elizabethan work by sculptor
Antonio Gradenigo, carried out in 1860, following the designs of Pietro
Selvatico of Este.
Gradenigo was the same sculptor who worked under Jappelli on the Cafe Pedrocchi
in Padova.
It is a charming walk, where every plant is rich with emotion: superb and
generous sovereigns, these reduced to the mystery of nature, both still
and living reigns over all doubts and instills tranquillity through the
shadows and light.
The Garden and the Park of the Villa Pisani are proof that the personality
and the charm of Evelina Pisani were so strong as to be felt even today.
